Introduction
The majority of my posts across social media prior to the creation of this substack have been an amalgamation of thoughts and meditations compiled from notes I jot down day-to-day. Occasionally, these have been received warmly by those who interact with them online and I receive positive feedback. This feedback has served as encouragement to continue beyond the initial hesitation that comes with sharing deeply sincere thoughts publicly, which I believe anyone sensible should experience, at least initially, if using the internet for anything other than work and entertainment.
Nevertheless, there has always been something that rubbed me wrong about having a blog. Especially as a man. It feels unnecessary and vain. However, in defense of this substack: if anyone is to share sincerely their thoughts about anything in the modern world, I do not think it becomes less cringe dropping paragraphs beneath a picture on social media, or worse, yapping away on tiktok—even if the latter would most certainly draw in a larger audience. Better it be here than anywhere else, in my view.
For those of you who have followed me for awhile now, I hope that my thoughts here spark compelling ideas and conversations, such as we have happily shared in the past. Only better this time, God willing.
